Adventure.
I find it perfectly appropriate that Meryl and Charlie’s wedding day was hinged on this idea of Adventure. Their adventurous love of nature and travel. The adventure of a new beginning and a new life together. A feeling of wonderment and excitement for all that is to come next. All of these elements made this wedding day distinctly “them” and it couldn’t have been more perfect.
Meryl and Charlie got married at Thompson Barn in Lenexa Kansas. A beautiful location with a barn and historic farm house on a gorgeous piece of land right in the middle of the city. The day was warm and sunny and perfectly mirrored their personality and way they are with each other. You could see the excitement on their faces and feel the anticipation they had for the moment they would say I do! One of my favorite moments came as the two of them read vows to each other before ceremony from behind a wall so they couldn’t see one another. They both were beaming with love and you could tell they just couldn’t wait to be married.
I just love this couples style. From the simple and natural cake design, to the textural floral bouquets, to the coffee mugs they drank out of at the reception. So much of them was sewn into every detail of the day. The reception was full of fun and laughter and featured a slideshow of child photos and stories of their first date from Meryl’s father. I really didn’t even want to leave at the end of the night. Both Charlie and Meryl and their entire family were so warm and wonderful to be around. Thank you both for allowing me to document your wedding day! I hope your adventure gets better every day!
